Flatten Lead Wrist Like a Tour Pro

Featured Coach of the Week – Michael Newton

The Power Click is a great tool to help golfers associate auditory feedback with feelings. In Michael Newton’s video, he explains that many of his students don’t realize they have a cupped lead wrist in their swing. If you don’t have a coach to watch your wrists as you practice, it’s helpful to practice with a training aid that can give you auditory cues to make sure you’re on the right track.

To help flatten your lead wrist throughout your swing, set up to the ball with the Power Click activated (clicked). By the time you get to the top of your backswing, the power click should be neutral (unclicked). That’s how you’ll  know that your lead wrist has flattened and is in a good position. Then, swing as you normally would. You shouldn’t hear the Power Click again until after you’ve made contact with the ball.
