How to Build a Tour Striker Golf Swing

Chop Some Logs and Find Your Rhythm

Most golfers hear "use your hands" and immediately fall into chaos. Flipping, casting, throwing the club at the ball. In this lesson, Martin breaks down why magic hands only work when your body rotation and weight shift are working with them — and uses a simple log-chopping analogy to help you feel the difference.

The Swing Flaw You Can't Feel (But Probably Have)

Most golfers have heard the term. Few actually know what it feels like. In this video I break down one of the most common swing killers I see, why it's so hard to catch on your own, and the simple awareness drill that tour players use to train it out for good. The Smart Ball Sleeve isn't just a training aid, it's a complete training system. The Sleeve comes with a full library of protocol videos to show you exactly how to use it. I personally shot over 30 lessons and drills so you know precisely what to work on and why.  [Shop the Smart Ball Sleeve]

What Real Impact Actually Looks Like (and How to Train It)

Martin breaks down what real impact actually looks like — open hips, braced lead leg, and a dynamic move that happens in a split second. See how Jack, Tiger, Ben Hogan and the all-time greats get there automatically, and why it all starts with your backswing.  Want to feel this faster? The Tour Striker Swing Trainer is what Martin uses in this video to train the right positions. → Check it out here.

Stop Staying Still: What the Scales Reveal About Your Short Game

Most golfers think small shots need small movement. They freeze over the ball, keep their head down, and hope for the best.  In this lesson, I am using bathroom scales to show why dynamic movement — even on short shots around the green — is the key to consistent contact.

You're Gripping the Club Wrong (And It's Costing You Distance)

Most golfers grip the club in their palms. It feels secure, like you're in control. But you're actually locking yourself out of a proper release before you even start your backswing. The club needs to sit in your fingers — specifically in the fingers of your left hand. That's where you get leverage. That's where you create freedom through the golf ball. In this video, I'll show you exactly where the club should sit, why it matters, and what changes when you get it right. Simple adjustment. Massive difference. The training aid I'm using in this video is the Flex Click — it's a wrist hinge trainer that gives you a tangible reminder of where your hands should be. If you want that feedback while you practice, you can grab one here.

The Simple Pressure Move Most Golfers Miss

Most golfers stand over the ball completely static and hope the swing takes care of itself. In this lesson, I am using an unexpected but simple aid to show the difference between weight and pressure and why that distinction matters more than you think. You’ll see how a small amount of motion before the swing helps you rotate more freely, get your swing circle forward, and strike the ball more consistently. This isn’t about positions or mechanics. It’s about learning how to move athletically before the club ever starts back.

Chris Gotterup Made Power Playable at the Sony Open

There's a big difference between hitting it far and winning with your length. Chris Gotterup showed us that difference at the Sony Open. Sure, he averaged 320 yards off the tee and launched a 359-yard missile on the 12th hole. But he won on one of the Tour's shortest, tightest courses—a layout that's supposed to neutralize bombers. His edge? Trajectory control. Shot shaping. The ability to hit low, penetrating drives into the wind when conditions demanded it. That's not luck. That's trained skill. Tour players use alignment sticks as an integral part of their practice routine for exactly this reason. In the video above, I walk through a couple of simple setups Chris uses to dial in start lines, match his speed with his intended shape, and keep his ball flight exactly where he wants it. This is how you make distance an advantage instead of a liability. If you want to build these skills into your own game, check out the Tour Striker Toolbox here.

How to Hit the Right Shot When You're In-Between Clubs

As we wrap up the year and head into that stretch between Christmas and New Year’s, I wanted to share a simple lesson that comes up all the time on the course. It’s a question nearly every golfer has faced: “What’s the right shot to hit when I’m in between clubs?” In the video above, I walk through how I think about these situations and share a simple framework to help you choose the right shot more consistently. I also show a way to practice these in between yardages so you’re not guessing when it matters. The alignment tool you see on the ground in the video is the Tour Striker Toolbox. It’s something I use in nearly every lesson, including all of my in person coaching. You can learn more about the Toolbox here. I hope this helps simplify your decision making the next time you’re stuck between clubs. — Martin

The Master Move for Better Impact

Early extension is one of the biggest killers of good impact. In this short lesson, I will show you how to create depth, make a little space for your trail arm, and get into a much cleaner delivery position. You will notice I am wearing the Smart Ball Sleeve here. It simply reinforces the feel and gives me a visual cue for how my trail arm should organize as I move into delivery. When you can get your trail arm in front of your right hip, everything improves. Your impact sharpens. Your delivery gets more organized. You start hitting straighter, more powerful shots. If you want to learn more about the Smart Ball Sleeve I am using, you can check it out here.
